Jaw opening — Part 1
Isometric opening exercise for when your mouth opens less than usual or your jaw feels stiff. It is the first step of the opening work: it activates the muscles in a controlled way, without pushing the joint to its limit.
Only do it if your case has been assessed and your specialist has told you to rehabilitate. Follow the video: slowly and without pain.
Before you start
- Do not force the opening or make abrupt movements.
- Stop the exercise if you feel pain.
- If your jaw locked suddenly or your opening has recently become very limited, get assessed before exercising.
These exercises are for guidance only and do not replace a professional assessment. Do them slowly, without pain, and stop if you feel discomfort.
